REPAIR GUIDE:

A couple notes before conducting the repair,  first off try to have a clear space to repair your phone and I’d also recommend having an ice cube tray handy to sort the screws.

You can always refer to the video to see the tear down and repair itself.

STEP 1:  Remove the two screws located at the bottom

STEP 2: Slide off the back plate to gain access to the battery

STEP 3: Proceed by removing the screw that holds down the ribbon cable near the bottom of the battery

STEP 4: Remove the ribbon cable that powers the battery there is also a small cover plate above with 2 screws that you should remove, refer to video

STEP 5: After both cable is removed loosen the battery by taking a flat screw driver or spudger tool and go around the edge of the battery to loosen the adhesive and lift the battery.

STEP 6: After all screws are removed , pull down the ribbon cable and begin to unscrew the big cover plate at the top of the phone revealing the motherboard (refer to video)

STEP 7: after those are removed proceed to remove the speaker near bottom by unplugging the small diode and unscrewing the screws  , then proceed to simply pull out the speaker be careful as the speaker is wedge under the motherboard and needs to be pulled out at a 45 degree angle

STEP 8: To make it easier you can also remove the vibrating motor located at the top right of the phone near the mute switch. After this you can begin to unscrew the motherboards screws located around it (refer to video) You also want to use a spudger tool to lift up all cables on the MOBO and also unscrew and take out the camera.

STEP 9: After finally removing the motherboard and all other parts begin to take out the 10 screws surrounding the frame of the phone; 4 in the corners and 6 on each side. (NOTE: There are washers under these screws that are easy to lose so try to keep them safe as these help lessen friction in the phone .

STEP 10: After all screws are removed and sorted take the spudger tool and go around the edge of the screen right between the silver frame and black edge this should cause the screen to lift revealing its tabs that were held in by the screws. (REFER TO VIDEO)

STEP11: Next get your new screen in and align it to fit tabs and make sure your two cables included in the new screen go through the open square slot , do be careful with the cables as they’re flimsy and easy to break (REFER TO VIDEO)

STEP12: After all is sorted and the new screen is fit in simply reverse the process and begin to re-insert everything in as you did tearing it apart.

Lastly after the phone has been put back together be sure to run tests on the camera , mic , speakers , ambient sensors etc.
